Celebrate Spring With An Italian Sangria

By: The Food Hunter

Cheers to Spring! It's been a long and brutal winter in most parts of the country, but the 1st day of spring is finally here, and there's no better way to celebrate than with your favorite cocktail.

The Cove Trattoria, a contemporary family-owned and operated Italian restaurant in Scottsdale is celebrating the season with their Italian Sangria, a robust blend of alcohol and fruit juice garnished with citrus.

If you can't make it into the Cove to try this specialty cocktail, mix up a large batch at home,
invite some friends over and enjoy the weather while you can....pretty soon it will be too HOT!

Italian Sangria
1 oz Maison Rouge Cognac
.75 oz Cointreau
.5 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Orange Juice
4 oz Dry Red Wine
soda water
citrus

Mix first 5 ingredients together and chill. When ready to serve, pour into a wine glass, top with soda water and garnish with citrus slices.

  6. Sangria is one of my favorite cocktails, but I haven't made any for a really long time. I'm feeling inspired by this version, for sure!
