Mini Pork Meatballs With Feta Dipping Sauce

By: The Food Hunter

Cocktail meatballs are always a big hit at parties but there's no reason to wait for a special occasion to mix up a batch. All it takes is a few simple ingredients, some frying or baking time, and a quick dipping sauce and viola you have the ultimate fun appetizer.

Mini Pork Meatballs With Feta Sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 pound ground pork
3/4 teaspoon chili flakes
1-2 tablespoons fresh oregano, minced
1 large egg
1/2 cup oil

In a mixing bowl add the pork, chili flakes, garlic powder, oregano, egg, salt and pepper. Add bread crumbs to the pork mixture and mix to thoroughly combine.

Using a small scoop or spoon, scoop and roll the meat into mini balls. Heat the oil in a large sauté pan over medium high heat. When the oil is hot begin adding the meatballs and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel lined plate. Serve with Spicy Feta Sauce.

Feta Dipping Sauce
7 ounces Feta cheese
1 - 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
red pepper flakes

Place the feta, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and olive oil in a food processor and combine until smooth. Adjust seasonings by adding more oil, or lemon juice. Add crushed red pepper and stir to combine.
