TeaVivre Review & Giveaway

By: The Food Hunter

My thoughts about tea have recently undergone a complete renovation. I used to think tea was boring and often times bitter; that was before I discovered loose whole leaf teas. It only took one cup of freshly brewed leaves for me to realize there is so much more to tea than the commercial bags that line the grocery shelves.

There’s an entire experience built around the act of drinking tea, from choosing the right leaves, figuring out the correct amount needed per serving, knowing the correct water temperature and knowing the length of time needed to steep your tea. All of these steps go into making the perfect cup of tea.

High quality loose teas are made from the finest hand-picked buds & tea leaves, that are harvested during certain times of the year for the highest quality. They are larger leaves which are not contained by bags allowing them to fully expand during stepping and release the most flavor.

You can imagine how excited I was when Teavivre offered to send me some teas for review. TeaVivre is a group of tea lovers and aficionados from China, Canada and France, who all share a passion for drinking great tea and appreciate the healthy life style it brings. They travel frequently, throughout China, visiting tea plantations so they can track down only truly exceptional teas. As a result they are able to find the absolute highest quality Chinese teas that are, wherever possible, 100% organically grown and produced.

I picked several varieties of white & green tea and an infuser mug to ensure the perfect steep. I love the glass mug & infuser; it's convenient and makes brewing tea fun. The teas I am tasting are:

Organic Superfine Dragon Well Long Jing Green Tea; sweet with hints of roasted nuts.
Silver Needle White Tea (Bai Hao Yin Zhen); mild with a buttery taste.
Organic White Peony Tea (Bai MuDan); slightly flowery, robust flavor.
Jasmine Silver Needle White Tea (Mo Li Yin Zhen); a soothing Jasmine flavored white tea.

Though they all are delicious in their own way my favorite by far is the Jasmine Silver Needle White Tea. If you are a tea drinker or want to be, I suggest you try this one, I was hooked after one sip.
Speaking of trying tea, The nice folks at TeaVivre are giving one lucky reader a chance to win the above tea mug and infuser and 2 tea samples of their choice. Enter below.
